Ozarks Regional Stockyards Slaughter / Replacement Cattle – Jan 18, 2023
Summary:
Unlike previous weeks where the cows and bulls have either traded high or low, this week the slaughter cows and bulls traded steady. Bred cows traded 100.00-120.00 higher. Demand was good on a moderate supply of slaughter animals and bred cows and a light supply of cow/calf pairs. There was a good crowd ringside as heavy rain fell across most of the service area. Demand for bred cows and bred heifers continues to increase as each week gets us closer to green grass.
Supply included (percentages are rounded): 61% Slaughter Cattle (17% Bulls, 83% Cows); 39% Replacement Cattle (2% Bulls, 1% Cow-Calf Pairs, 69% Bred Cows, 22% Stock Cows, 6% Bred Heifers);
