Do you remember the Klondike commercials that asked, ‘What would you do for a Klondike bar?’ A Massachusettes cafe asks,’ What would you dance for a free cup of coffee?’ Although some customers are willing to pay for their morning cup of caffeine, others enter the store with various dance steps. Here is what happened.
What Happened?
Last Friday, Coffee Milano Cafe in Middleborough, Massachusetts, displayed a sign on the door advertising a deal offering customers free coffee if they danced into the shop.
The sign read,
Want a FREE COFFEE?? Walk in and give us your BEST Dance moves for 5 seconds! [1]!
The sign added that their dancing moves would be recorded for social media. Surprisingly, people were not shy. By Sunday, the coffee shop posted a TikTok showing what happened after the sign was posted.
Beginnings
The idea began when Josh Rashid, the cafe’s owner, saw a pizza shop on social media offering the same dancing deal for free slices. The following day, his social media manager teased the promotion on the cafe’s Facebook page. Then, he posted a sign on the door. About 15 to 20 people showed up and danced. The dances were as varied as the customers. Customers kept their money for future purchases while they danced to coffee.
Future?
This was such a success that customers have been asking if there are plans to throw more dance-for-coffee parties. The shop’s social media pages are already hinting at the next one.
