On August 24, 2022, YouTube removed AltonMo.com’s “The Wild Protest Rally Brought Millions Of People To Washington, D.C. On January 6, 2021” because of “misinformation.” AltonMo.com appealed to their decision on August 26th, and YouTube responded.

Our Appeal

As stated in the first article, AltonMo.com appealed to YouTube to review our video again. We said the following:

The only problem I see with this is that you may, subjectively, disagree with the word ‘millions’ to describe the crowd gathered on January 6th. At that moment when this was uploaded, crowd counts were anywhere from multiple hundreds of thousands to over a million people. We were there as you can see. The mall between the Capitol and Washington Memorial to the White House and surrounding areas were filled with people. This video has been up since January 8, 2021, and just now you have a problem with this video. The contents of this video are interviews with people on that day. It is a historical document and I appeal your decision because, I think, history has not served you well in other topics of the last 6 years where time has proved you wrong on a variety of topics.

Appeal Rejected

YouTube got back to AltonMo.com on the same day, August 26th, saying they will not reinstate the video.

We’ve looked at your content again carefully, and have confirmed that it does violate Community Guidelines. It will not be available on YouTube. We know it may be disappointing, but it’s important that we keep the YouTube community protected.
