Alton, Mo. – Summertime is upon us. With school recess, many parents are interested in keeping an edge on their children. How to keep them thinking when not doing schoolwork? How to bring about greatness in their children? The Alton Public Library has a solution: its Summer Reading Program.
What Is This?
This is a reading program promoted by the Alton Library. It is a time of reading and activities, including story time at our library.
What Ages Can Participate?
This is open to children ages 0-12. Admittedly, babies and toddlers cannot read. However, most facts point to better learning and understanding when children are read to. Older children may read for themselves or be read to. The library has a large selection of age-appropriate books ready for each child.
When Does This Happen?
The summer reading program lasts from June 7, 2023, through June 28, 2023. Each Wednesday at 110:00 am, the library will host a free storytime.
Registration?
The Alton Library would like each participant to register. You can do it in person at the library or call 417-778-6414 to register.
While the summer reading program is designed for children, the library is open to all ages. Bring the whole family for story time and every age can leave with a book or two.
