Alton, Mo. – The Shafer family in Alton has undergone more unplanned emergencies. On January 14, six-year-old Nate Shafer passed away in an auto accident. While the family is grieving, they could use community support to handle some of the finances. There will be a pulled pork dinner and auction for them to do that.

Meal

Starting at 4:00 pm, there will be a pulled pork dinner.

Auction

There will be an auction starting at 5:00 p.m. All proceeds will cover the medical and funeral costs. You can follow their FB page as items are donated for this benefit.

Where Is This?

The auction and the meal will be held at the Alton Multi-purpose building on the school grounds.

When Is This?

This happens on Saturday, February 22.

Who Is Faith Shafer?

Faith Shafer lost her husband to cancer in 2023. She is raising her four young children while helping others through her work at the Oregon County Ambulance District. Now, she tragically lost her six-year-old son, Nathan.

Other Donations

If you want to donate an item for the auction, you can leave it at either the Thayer or Alton Ambulance Base or drop it off at the Alton Napa Auto Parts. You can also donate if you cannot attend the auction or meal. The Southern Bank in Alton and Thayer handles donations, and Community First Bank in Thayer also takes financial contributions.
