Alton, Mo. – The Alton Chamber of Commerce met to discuss what needs to be delegated and handled before the upcoming 38th Annual Black Gold Walnut Festival. The big date for the event is Saturday, October 7, 2023. Many of the details are coming together in preparation for this event.
Booths
The chamber has sent out booth applications. They are starting to come back as vendors want to participate. If one still needs the form, he can go here. On Saturday morning, vendors can start setting up at 6:30 a.m. Vehicles need to be off the square by 8:30 in the morning.
Judges
The chamber will have judging in pumpkins, baking, woodworking, and best booth.
Saturday Night
This year, they are Not planning a run Friday night before the festival. Currently, no activity is planned for that evening. Music is in the planning stage, but nothing is confirmed yet.
Next Meetings
If you want to volunteer your help for the festival, you are encouraged to attend the next meeting on Tuesday, September 12. They will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Alton. This will be the volunteer sign-up meeting.
The regularly scheduled meeting for the chamber will still be on Thursday, September 21, to finalize any details.
