Alton, Mo. – AltonMo.com has been working on a few improvements. As a growing influence in the community, AltonMo.com is there to meet local needs. One item that kept resurfacing was a calendar. How can people find out what is happening and when? How to publicize your event so more people can attend?
Where Is The Calendar?
After much trial and error, AltonMo.com now has an events calendar. On the home page, it is on the left-hand side. If you use a phone, it is at the bottom. The calendar is dark. When something of notice happens in the community, the date on the calendar is blue. When you click on the blue date, whatever is scheduled for that date comes up. Sometimes, especially as we went through various fall festivals, there could be multiple events on the same date. They will all display. You can further click on the event to find more details.
You can search for upcoming events in other months, too.
Use?
This event calendar will help in planning your weekend trips. Where, when, and possible costs will all show up.
As we receive information, we post it immediately so locals can plan accordingly. This applies to churches, school events, city or civic meetings.
Who Can Use This?
This is a free tool for the community to use. Businesses can announce extended hours for holidays; they can announce closing earlies for holiday parties. Churches can announce extra services, VBS, or revivals. Individuals can post up car washes or benefits. These are just a few ideas.
