Alton, Mo. – Alton First Baptist Church is working diligently to fill Christmas shoe boxes. They have a goal of 125 boxes to send to poor and needy children. The church is enlisting the public for assistance. Here is what you can do.
What Is It?
The Christmas shoebox ministry is a worldwide ministry that gives a shoebox of various items to a needy child somewhere in the world at Christmastime.
Fill
Feel free to contact the church about filling a shoebox. There are certain guidelines that are not difficult to follow. Basically, they want new items, all packaged for a certain age and sex. Do not wrap the presents or seal the box.
Donate
You can donate $20 to the church. That is the average cost of filling a shoebox. The donation will go to the one who shops for the shoebox.
You can also donate in $10 increments. To ship the boxes costs $10 per box. This includes a Bible and a discipleship program in each box.
The church will accept donations of any amount to be used for the Christmas Shoe Box program.
Deadline
The church needs to have donations to the church by Sunday, October 30, 2022, and shoeboxes to the church by Wednesday, November 2, 2022.
Contact Information
All boxes and donations go to the First Baptist Church in Alton, Missouri. Contact the church at 417-372-7531 or Debbie Langston if you can help sponsor the OCC Shoebox Project.
