Alton, Mo. – The Alton Senior Center is currently taking up a collection of non-perishable items for the seniors. Who doesn’t think about the less fortunate during the holidays?
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone in the community to assist the elderly, combining their funds with others to and seesmake a difference.
What Donations Are Accepted
At present, the center is gathering non-perishable items to help the seniors in need. Examples of these items are canned foods, toiletries, paper towels, and pet treats. Just about anything that cannot perish will be accepted. Residents can give one item or several items. The Alton Senior Center is pleased with any and all donations. The Alton Senior Center takes all donations and sees that everything is all sorted and distributed to those in need.
What Happens To These Donations
The senior center will sort the donations and put them in “Baskets of Love.” Local drivers will distribute these baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas. There is a goal of 125 baskets for seniors. The center tries to have this collection annually as so many residents depend on the assistance from town and their neighbors.
