October calls for fall with beautiful foilage and pumpkin and spices. The Thayer and Alton, Missouri, Senior Centers are on the ball with their menus and activities for October of 2023.
Alton
On October 3rd, lasagna, salad, Italian veggies, hot rolls, and a root beer float will be served. On the 5th, Swedish meatballs served over noodles, green beans, hot rolls, and a pecan pie cobbler will be served. Meatlovers bubble-up pizza, Italian veggies, garlic bread, and honeybun cake will be served on the 12th. BBQ rib sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw, and fruit parfait will be dished out on October 20th. To close out the month on October 31, bacon cheeseburger tater tot bake, California veggies, hot rolls, caramel apple, and poke cake will be served.
Activities
On October 2nd, there will be a foot care clinic. On the 11th, you can have frappes with Whitney. Bingo will be played on October 12th. On the 25th, pumpkin painting will be between 9:30 am and 11:30 am. On the 30th, there will be a safety class at noon.
Thayer
On October 4th, oven-fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, roll, and mandarin orange cake will be served. On the 10th, spaghetti with meat sauce, tossed salad, Italian blend, garlic bread, and dump cake will be served. Polish sausage and sauerkraut, black-eye peas, homemade cornbread, and cookies will be served on October 16th. Chili with crackers, carrots, broccoli, and oatmeal cake will be served on the 20th. On October 27th, there will be a picnic at the park with hot dogs, chili, chips, pickle spear, and cookies being served.
Activities
On every Tuesday and Wednesday (except October 10th) between 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm, there will be chair exercises and games with Linda. Every Wednesday between 9:30 am and 11:30 am, there will be CDSME with Kevin and Kaela. Bingo will be played on Mondays (except October 12th) at 10:00 am.
