Prevention Of Virus

The easiest way to prevent the covid-19 virus from taking hold id be washing your hands frequently with soap and water. Soap literally eradicates the virus. Bleach and other alternatives don’t come close to the power of soap and water. It is recommended to wash hands for 20 seconds. Twenty seconds is the time it takes to sing one verse of “Old McDonald Had A Farm”.

Other preventive measures include coughing into your elbow. Don’t touch your face if at all possible.

Social space is a term that means keeping at least six feet between you and anyone else. Costco has yellow tape on their floors six feet apart to help customers distinguish the distance.

The final recommendation to protect yourself from the virus is to stay at home as much as possible, limiting all contact with others. Every time you go out of your home, even to check the mail, you should wash your hands thoroughly when you re-enter your home.

Many places around this state and country already have home quarantine situations. To avoid it becoming mandatory here in Oregon County, residents can take it upon themselves to stay home and away from others.

This disease causes flu-like symptoms like cough and fever. It can quickly spread into the respiratory system making breathing difficult. One often gets tired with shortness of breath.

Who Can Contract The Disease

Anyone who comes in contact with the virus can get the disease. It is mare fatal on the elderly or those with other health issues. Missouri has 46 cases of this disease for those aged 20-29. The next age group with cases is ages 50-59 with 39 cases. Missouri does have covid-19 cases reported in every age bracket. [1]
