Alton, Mo. – Oregon County Public Schools will remain closed a bit longer. At the President’s recommendation to keep our social spacing, the superintendents of the four Oregon County Schol Districts have agreed to keep the schools closed until April 24, 2020. As the date approaches or other developments come, the superintendents will reevaluate the situation.
Who Is Closed?
On March 31, 2020, the superintendents of four school systems agreed to this closing The four school systems are Thayer, Koshkonong, Couch, and Alton. Previously, the schools have been closed until March 31, 2020. [1] This was spring break with an extension. However, President Trump has requested that social distancing and stay at home orders be extended until April 30, 2020.
What Is Included?
Included in this closure are all extra-curricular activities and practices. This includes sporting events, choirs, and other related meetings. As May approaches, the graduation for high school senior mears. At this time, the superintendents have not come to any decision regarding graduation.
