It is that time of year again: time to change clocks. Twice a year most Americans reset the clocks. In the fall, we gain an extra hour of sleep. On the other hand, in the spring we turn our clocks forward, losing an hour of sleep.
Exactness
For those people desiring perfection, at 2:00 a.m. on March 13, 2022, we move our clocks forward one hour, making it 3:00 a.m. This is the move to daylight savings time.
Reality
I’m sure some people do arise at that hour to reset the clocks. However, many more people set their clocks before they go to sleep at night. Some even wait until Sunday morning to turn the clocks forward. This is the time to remind ourselves to change the batteries in the smoke detectors, too.
Country Views
Most people in America no longer see the need of changing clocks. In fact, it is more of a nuisance. While a few states are trying to charge their legislature into not changing the clocks, the federal government says that bordering states must agree to eliminate the daylight savings time before it came become non- existent. So until then, we change our clocks and groan when awakening the next morning.
