Here’s a riddle: everyone loves them, no one hates them. They come in a variety like chocolate, glazed, and sprinkled. Can you guess what I am? I’m a donut of course! Today, June 3, 2022, is National Donut Day. Different fast-food places are having sales just for this day.
History
National Donut Day was started by the Salvation Army. This day was first started in 1928 to help the needy during the Great Depression and to commemorate the work of the “donut lassies” who served donuts to soldiers in World War I. [1]

Dunkin’ Donuts
The famous restaurant everyone goes to is Dunkin’ Donuts. They are having a sale for everyone on June 3rd. All you have to do is buy one of there drinks and then they get a free donut. [2]

Another widely known donut chain is Krispy Kreme. They are also having a donut sale. Anyone who comes to their store can get a free donut. If you buy another dozen of regular donuts or 16 mini donuts you can get a dozen original glazed donuts for $1.00. [3]
