Alton, Mo. – The Shafer family lost the young father and husband after a fight against cancer. He left behind a loving wife with four young children. The Alton community is coming together to support this family. Here are some ways you can help.
Donation Cans
Cans are strategically located in Alton businesses for residents to donate cash.
Dinner
On Saturday, June 3, 2023, a dinner will be held at the Alton multi-purpose building. All proceeds go to the family. Bootleggers Barbecue will supply the meal. It begins at 5:00 pm. During the meal, the Elmores will sing.
Auction
At 6:00 pm, following the meal, the auction begins. Many items have already been donated. You can see an ongoing list here. They are open for donations, too. If you want to donate, please drop it off at Napa in Alton before 6:00 pm. on Friday. Otherwise, please bring it to the multipurpose building.
Car Wash
A car wash benefit will be at the Alton Souther Bank on Saturday, June 3, between noon and 3. Bring your dirty vehicles to help a family. They are looking for volunteers to help wash. Come help for part or all of the time.
Lemonade Stand
Kids are hosting a lemonade stand on Friday. Drinks are only $1 each.
