Father’s Day is Sunday. You want to honor dear old Dad. But what can you give him? Another tie? Hmm, how many dads even wear ties anymore? Dads do not want flowers or chocolate. What else?
Dads want something practical, something they will use. They do not want a pretty something to clutter up a shelf. Depending on your dad, here are some gift ideas to get you thinking.
Mechanical
Does Dad have a mechanical mind? Does he change oil or tinker with tools? A new tool set to replace missing pieces would be appreciated. If that is too much for your budget (sorry, dad), what about a bundle of clean rags and that goopy soap for grease?
Grilling
Is Dad the one in charge of the grill? How about treating Dad to buying the steaks? Besides that, a grill brush or any tasty, garlicky seasoning for grilling make perfect additions that will be used up before the season ends. Aside from that, it could be a meat thermometer just for him.
Mornings
Coffee. Fresh coffee beans and a grinder- he will thank you each morning. If you look online, you can subscribe him to a coffee-a-month club. Also, if you want to wake him up, you can get him a new digital alarm clock. Maybe get one with sleeping sounds as a bonus.
DooDads
Not all doodads work for Dad. But how about a bug zapper? The kind that runs on batteries, or better yet, rechargeable? A nice water bottle that keeps drinks cold can be another idea.
These are a few ideas Dad is sure to like and use. You can deviate from this list to something your Dad wants. Do not forget to wish him a Happy Father’s Day!
