Do you homeschool? Do you appreciate art? Or maybe you aspire to be a writer? HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association) just opened its fall contests. Homeschool students of any age may enter. Monetary prizes will be issued. Two contests are going on simultaneously. You can enter either one or both.
Art Contest
The art contest is divided into three age brackets. Based solely on age, the student will draw art resembling techniques from Van Gogh, Friedrich, or Seurat. You can find details and examples here.
Essay Contest
The essay writing contest uses imagination and creativity. HSLDA gives you a sentence. Around this, you need to write an essay. The essay may not be more than 700 words and does need to be typed. An adult may type for a younger child. The complete rules are listed here.
Rules
Each contest is open to homeschooled students between the ages of 7-19. Each contest is open between October 1, 2022, and December 1, 2022. This is open Only to homeschooled students. Public school and virtual public school students are disqualified. HSLDA has an entry fee of $15, or $10 for members. All profits from this and future contests go to HSLDA Compassion. This assists families to continue their homeschooling journey. For each contest, a student may enter up to two times. Winners receive a cash prize from $50- $500. This is open nationwide.
