Alton, Mo. – Local citizens helped to unload the food bank truck on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the Alton, Missouri, Community Center.
What Happened
Volunteers showed up at nine in the morning. The truck showed up around 9:30 am. The volunteers went between making a chain and just carrying the boxes individually to where they were supposed to go.
Who Came
Around a dozen people showed up to help unload and bring the food into the community center. Along with the adults, seven youth came to help.
The Food
There was a variety of food brought into the community center to be given out. Among them were canned goods, milk, butter, meat, and eggs.
Giving Out The Food
The food bank giving out is going to happen on Thursday, December 2, 2021, starting at 7:30 am. It will be a drive-by service.
The Food Bank
The Alton Food Bank is always looking for volunteers to help them. If you’re interested in helping out, the food bank unloading happens the first Wednesday of the month and the next day they give out the food; you can just show up. Anyone can come and help out. On Wednesday, you need to show up at 9:00 am and on the next day you need to show up at 7:30 am. For the unloading, depending on the amount of help, you may be there until noon of two in the afternoon.
