Alton, Mo. – Have you tried to make your own homemade jam with less sugar, trying to be healthy? Only to make a disastrous mess? The Missouri Extension office is here to guide you in a better way. Stephanie Johnson, Nutrition and Health Education Specialist for University of Missouri Extension, located in West Plains, MO, said, “Capture the essence of summer fruit in jams and jellies the low-sugar way.”
The Class
A hands-on class will teach the information needed to preserve your own jam and jelly at home.
Cost?
The class will cost $20.00, which covers the cost of all supplies. Participants can also take their own jam home with them.
Who Can Attend?
All skill levels are invited to attend. This includes individuals with little or no experience.
When Is The Class?
The class will be held on April 23, 2024. It begins at 10:00 a.m. and continues to 12:00 p.m.
Registration
You must register and pay for the class by April 22 to guarantee supplies will be available for the class on April 23.
Where Is The Class?
The class will be held in the basement of the Victory Freewill Baptist Church located south of Alton, MO. Class size is limited, and you must register in advance by calling or stopping by the Extension Office located in Oregon County, 1 Court Square, Alton, MO.
