It is spring, and hunters begin listening for turkeys to gobble. With that in mind, the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) announced changes to turkey season. They are lengthening turkey season for those hunting on their own properties and changing prices.
Changes
Two important changes happen for this season. First, you may now hunt until sunset on private lands. On public lands, shooting hours remain unchanged and end at 1 p.m. Next, permit prices have been increased to keep up with rising costs of goods and services.
Dates
Youth spring turkey season begins April 6. You can read more of the dates and regulations here.
Necessities
Whether you hunt on private or public land, one needs a turkey permit. You can purchase the permits here. A turkey call can be helpful. The AltomMo.com classifieds have turkey calls for sale here.
