Alton, Mo. – After a much-awaited delay, Alton Farmer’s Market is finally opening. Instead of opening back in April, as planned, the virus took our community by the hand and set us inside. Meanwhile, plants kept growing and the sun came out.
When Do They Open?
Happily, the Farmer’s Market announced that they will open for the season, Saturday, May 30, 2020. Expect an abundance of fresh produce and hand made items for sale. One can expect squashes, tomatoes, and other spring produce, besides home-baked treats and hand made items.
Where Is This?
The Farmer’s Market is set up at Tucker Creek Walking Park. From Alton, take highway 19 south. Turn right next to the First Baptist Church. There is ample shade, cool breezes, and room for everyone. The market is scheduled to be open from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Parking lots are nearby and overflow parking is along the driveway.
