When you go outdoors, are you snake-wary? Does anything that squiggles on the ground remind you of snakes? Are you unsure what is poisonous and what is not? With warm weather upon us, it is good to know the difference between beneficial snakes and those that do cause harm.
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will host a virtual program, “Venomous Snakes of Missouri.” The class will separate facts from myths. Learn how to distinguish good snakes from dangerous ones. Learn their habitats and how to avoid them.
What Is Happening?
During the class, MDC Naturalist Sam Grove will discuss the venomous snake species found in Missouri and how to identify them. She will also discuss some of the falsehoods associated with poisonous snakes. Then, there will be a question-and-answer period.
