The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) wants to encourage families to get out and fish, no matter the weather. To encourage this, they are hosting a free fishing event in February. All ages can participate. Here are the details.
What Is Happening?
The MDC is inviting families to a free fishing event in Jefferson City. Participants ages 16-65 must have a valid fishing license. If they want to keep any trout they catch, participants will also need to purchase a trout permit. To purchase a permit, go to http://short.mdc.mo.gov/Z4g. Attendees under the age of sixteen can fish for free without a permit.
When Is This?
Ignore the weather. This free fishing event takes place on Saturday, February 10, 2024. It happens between 2-4 pm.
Where Is This?
This free fishing event takes place at McKay Park Lake, located at 1700 Southridge Drive in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Do I Need To Register?
Yes! Registration is required. One can register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/4nN. An adult must accompany participants under the age of 15 at all times.
What Else?
MDC will provide all fishing gear. The take is stocked with trout, largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, red-ear sunfish, and crappie.
