From November 29 until December 1, Missouri held its late youth portion of the 2019s deer hunting season. According to preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) young hunters managed to harvest 1,909 deer.
Late Youth Season
A little down from 2018s late youth deer season, which managed to harvest 2,595 deer, 2019s late portion of deer season still managed to bring in over 1,000 deer. [1]
Youths across the state of Missouri checked in 1,909 deer, of which 752 were antlered bucks, 200 were button bucks, and 957 were does. The counties with the most deer harvested were Osage County with 63 deer checked, Lincoln County which had 45, and Callaway County with 41. Oregon County checked in 15 deer during youth late portion of deer season.
More Deer Hunting
Deer hunting continues in Missouri with archery deer hunting from November 27 through to January 15, 2020. The late youth portion of the firearm deer season runs November 29 through December 1. The antlerless portion of firearm deer season runs December 6-8, and the alternative methods portion of deer season will run from December 28 through to January 7, 2020. [2]
