Tired of Waiting On Missouri?
With all of the talk about the elk herd here in Missouri, you might be hankering to go elk hunting or big game hunting but just can’t wait for Missouri to open up a hunting season on elk. You’re not alone, but you have options.
If you can afford to take some time off and drive to Wyoming, the Wyoming Big Game hunting licenses are available.
Residents and nonresidents can apply for elk, antelope, deer, spring turkey, bighorn sheep, moose and mountain goat. The first deadline is Jan. 31 for nonresident elk and resident and nonresident spring turkey.
For full details, including modify/withdraw dates and landowner application dates and details, see the Game and Fish application packet and the hunt planner for area and access information [1].
How To Apply
Before applying at the Wyoming game and fish department online electronic application service, you’ll need to know the following:
- Species
- Preference Point Options (a system to improve odds of pulling a license in a hard-to-draw area) Kinda’ complicated. Read more here.
- Party ID (If you have a group who want to hunt in the same area) More info here.
