Alton, Mo. – The 36th Annual Walnut Festival took place on Saturday, October 2, 2021. It started out on Friday night with the Run the Town for Gold 5K and one mile run/walk.
Run The Town For Gold
The race took place at the Alton High School. About twenty kids ran the one mile race. For the 5K, two teenagers and a pair of parents with their kids ran/walked it.

The Walnut Festival
While the forecast was predicting a rainy day, the rain held off until the end of the festival. The Walnut Festival began bright and early at 9:00 am. The National Anthem was sung and the school choirs sang. Kids could carve pumpkins until 11:30 am.

Vendors were selling shirts, candles, food, and all sorts of things. Their was also a baking and woodworking contest. Youth games were held from 12:30 until 3:00 pm.
