While the news outlets scrambled to put out the idea that COVID was the worst disease in a long time, they also highly promoted its vaccine. Despite not being proven safe or effective, the government and businesses forced the shot. Some took the shot and were seriously harmed. Others did not take the vaccine. Many of the unvaccinated were forced from their jobs without any exemption. While the lawsuits are coming into the news, here is another one from Michigan.
A woman fired for refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine has won a record $12 million settlement from her employer.
What Happened?
Lisa Domski, an IT specialist at Blue Cross Blue for over thirty years, was fired for refusing to take the jab. After suing the company for religious discrimination against her Catholic faith, Domski was awarded a powerful amount of money for damages by a federal jury in Detroit, according to the Associated Press.
This ruling included $10 million in punitive damages against Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, $1.7 million in lost wages, and $1 million in noneconomic damages.
Her Stance
Domski already worked remotely during the pandemic. Even before the virus broke out, most of her work was carried out remotely.
Her lawyer, Jon Marko, pointed out that
Lisa refused to renounce her faith and beliefs and was wrongfully terminated from the only job she had ever known [1].
He continued,
The jury’s verdict today tells BCBSM that religious discrimination has no place in America and affirms each person’s right to religious freedom [2].
Defense
Meanwhile, the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan tried to defend its actions and has refused to apologize for its discrimination.
The company said in a statement:
Throughout the pandemic, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, together with its employees, worked to promote the health and safety of our colleagues, stakeholders, and communities. As part of that shared work, in October 2021, Blue Cross, and its subsidiaries, enacted a vaccine policy requiring all of its employees to be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 or obtain a religious or medical accommodation [3].
Blue Cross was disappointed with the jurors’ verdict and is now considering legal options.
Countless numbers of Americans lost their jobs and livelihoods during the pandemic as tyrannical authorities sought to mandate the vaccine.
