Who Should Get A Flu Shot?
According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control), everyone over the age of 2 should get a flu vaccine each year. [1] Individuals at risk for complications are exempt. Varying flu shots are available. For example, there are shots for children younger than two and adults over age 65. Flu shots are recommended for pregnant women. The nasal spray flu vaccine is available for individuals between the ages of 2 and 49.
When To Receive A Vaccination
It is best for seniors to get their flu vaccine before the virus begins in the community. Once again, the CDC recommends early fall as the optimum time to get vaccinated.
Any questions or concerns regarding a flu vaccination need to be referred to a healthcare professional.
