Thayer Fire Department Seeking Donations For Muscular Dystrophy Association

The Thayer, Missouri, Fire Department is having a boot fundraiser once again to help the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). They will be on certain roads with a boot that passers-by can donate to on Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 8:30 am to noon.

About the Boot

The Thayer firefighters have been doing the Fill the Boot fundraiser for the past sixty-eight years. All the proceeds will go to the MDA. Those funds will then be given to help kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and other related muscle-debilitating diseases.

Where to Donate

The firefighters will be at the US 63 and MO 142 location and Business 63 and US 63 like in the past. They will be there on August 6th from 8:30 am to noon. Firefighters will be asking pedestrians, motorists, customers, and other people to donate.

Chief Arnold of the Thayer fire department said that they are thankful for MDA’s support of people with diseases and their willingness to help others.
