What is your plan for your winter vacation? Do you plan to go somewhere warm? With sandy beaches? And lots of sunshine? Are you also thinking about how to hide those extra pumpkin pie pounds you garnered throughout the holidays? Here are some ideas to get you started.
Would you like to lose that middle roll of flab that you can’t seem to lose no matter how much you exercise or spot reduce it? It’s true that the spare tire around your middle is fat, and until you lose it you won’t see your 6-pack abs.
Diet
Losing fat around your middle is as simple as reducing your caloric intake and eating foods that burn fat, like lean protein, salads, and vegetables. In the evenings, when your body slows down, you should reduce your carbohydrate intake. Burn unwanted fat in your lifestyle and eventually achieve the show-off abs you desire with a low-fat diet.
Besides eating a low-fat diet, you should exercise to tone and firm the abdominal muscles beneath the fat. Your abs should be exercised correctly if you want to see results. Tummy crunches won’t firm your abs if you don’t do them correctly.
Exercise
Toning your abs is not the same thing as reducing fat around your middle. Performing exercises can tone abdominal muscles, but removing fat requires an internal approach. Spot reduction exercises won’t work if you don’t lose fat first.
There is no quick fix for a flabby stomach. You can spend hundreds of dollars on pills and creams, but you’ll soon realize that the only way to achieve those 6-pack abs is to work at it!
Learn how to exercise properly before you begin. During crunches, for example, learn the right way to breathe. There are several good online resources that provide information about abdominal exercises.
To firm and tone your abs, focus on resistance training. Using a “fit ball” (or exercise ball) can help you relieve lower back pain. Be careful not to overdo it. When you’re exercising muscles that have been dormant for some time, three sessions a week is plenty.
Cardio
Include cardio exercises (aerobic) in your exercise regimen – including both upper and lower body exercises – to burn fat. Cardio exercises are designed to keep your heart rate up, so they can help you lose weight. Exercises such as cardio should be done early in the morning – and always without food.

Seeing results might not happen as fast as you’d like. There are six-pack abs hidden beneath that fat roll. Finding them is your responsibility.
Good luck!
