Alton, Mo. – Alton City Pool is branching out to many types of classes this summer. Besides baby swimming, water aerobics, and regular swim classes, next week they are offering shark classes. This is for advanced swimmers only. It teaches basic swimming maneuvers, simple swimming rules, and junior lifeguard skills.
What Is This Class About?
This swim class is for advanced swimmers. Participants will learn diving techniques, different strokes, river, and water safety rules, and lifeguarding skills.
Who Can Attend?
One of the class stipulations is that you must be at least age 10. However, this is dependent upon one’s skill level. Participants must also be able to swim in the deep end without a life-saving device.
When Are The Classes?
To not interrupt your day, these classes will be Tuesday and Thursday, June 27 and 29. The classes begin at 7:00 pm and last one hour. A short free swim time is allowed at the end.
