Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield, Missouri, is celebrating its centennial anniversary on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the zoo. There will be a lot of activities and events going on throughout the day.
When
The centennial celebration will be on Saturday, July 15, 2023. The zoo will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Ceremony
While the zoo will already be open, the ceremony will begin at 11:00 am. Multiple guests are lined up to speak, including Springfield Mayor Ken McClure, Greene County Presiding Commissioner Bob Dixon, Missouri state representatives Stephanie Hein and Betsy Fogle, Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe, and Congressman Eric Burlison. Vendors
Throughout the day, vendors will be lining the pathways. Some vendors include face painting, magic tricks, bounce houses, and more! Mascots of different organizations and sports teams will be walking around the zoo, available for pictures. [2]
Food
Along with the regular food sold at the zoo cafe, birthday-themed treats will be sold. According to zoo spokeswoman Joey Powell, the animals, not to be left out, will also be fed with 100th birthday treats. [3]
Cost
For the centennial celebration, everyone costs $12, no matter the age. [4]
