History Of The Date
In 1984, President Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream month. He went on to designate the third Sunday in July as National Ice Cream Day. In a proclamation, he urged all people to observe these events with
appropriate ceremonies and activities [1].
Usually, the White House celebrates the month with the annual Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party. This year the celebration was on June 22, not even in the same month.

Over 90% of the US population enjoys ice cream. Once more, President Reagan described ice cream as
a nutritious and wholesome food enjoyed by over 90% of the people in the United States [2].
The average person in America consumes 48 pints of ice cream per year. In 1904 cones for ice cream was invented. One cow can produce 9,000 gallons of ice cream in its lifetime. The average number of licks it takes to eat one ice cream is 50
