Koshkonong, Mo. – The Koshkonong Heritage Day Festival has been going on since 8:30 morning, October 21, 2023. The event will continue on until around six tonight.
This Morning
A breakfast of biscuits and gravy, eggs, and sausage was served at the start of the festival. At 9:45 am, over a dozen kids participated in a chicken chase, in which all of the kids who caught a chicken got a prize and the chicken if they wanted it. Hay rides to the museum went on from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The ride took about ten minutes round-trip. Shortly after 11:00 am, little kids participated in finding a “needle in the hay stack.” At 11:30, bigger kids and adults worked hard to push a hay bale a certain distance.
This Afternoon
This afternoon is still jam-packed with events going on. Vendors are set up around the Koshkonong City Park. Story teller Edwin Woolsey will have multiple stories to tell between 3:00 and 3:30. Sack races will take place at 3:15 pm. A nail-driving game and outhouse races will begin at 3:45 pm and 4:00 pm, respectively. At 5:00 pm, the tent revival free supper of beans and cornbread will begin. At 6:00 pm, the tent revival will begin. You can access the schedule here: Koshkonong Heritage Days Schedule.
