Alton, Mo. – This week is the Fourth of July, Independence Day, our nation’s birthday. With the day being in the middle of the week, cities are arranging their schedules to accommodate the most people. Whatever your schedule, try to take time out, relax, and enjoy the celebrations of our nation’s birth.
Alton
Alton is the first in the fireworks lineup. Alton has its fireworks with booths and festivities. On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the gates to Piney Creek Park open at 5:00 p.m., and fireworks are fired off at dark.
Thayer
Next in the lineup is Thayer. Their fireworks extravaganza is on Thursday, July 4, 2024. Thayer will have live music, skydivers, air evac, and free watermelon slices. It is held at the high school football field. The fireworks start at dark. Gates open at 5:00 pm.
Faith Tabernacle
Faith Tabernacle Church in Rover is having a 4th of July celebration on Friday, July 5, 2024. At 7:30 pm, they will have a service. Following the service, they will have food, volleyball, basketball, games, and fireworks!
Thomasville
Not to be left out, Thomasville is also planning its fireworks/rodeo evening. The rodeo begins at 7:00 p.m., but the food vendors will be selling long before that time. Once it is dark, the rodeo breaks for the fireworks before returning to finish the rodeo. This should be quite the festivity this year as the Thomasville Volunteer Fire Department celebrates its 30th year in existence. They always have a quilt raffle, and this year is no different.
Each of these towns ensures that all of their Independence Day events are family-friendly. And the fireworks shows are free!
