Nearby Wayne County, Missouri is getting into the Easter holiday spirit. In an attempt to get the whole county one-minded, the University of Missouri extension office has decorated rocks. Yes, they decorated rocks- not eggs. These rocks are hidden throughout the county and are waiting to be found.
Who?
Wayne County 4-H Club is hosting the seek & find event. Anyone may participate by seeking out through the county one of 18 painted rocks.This is a free event open to people of all ages.
Where Are These Rocks?
The Wayne County 4-H club hid these 18 painted rocks at various locations throughout Wayne County. Examples of where they are hidden are: Baker State Park, Old Greenville, Lake Wappapello, Clearwater Lake, historical sites, trailheads, and other points of interest throughout the county.
What Prize For Finding One?
If you find a painted rock, you can take a selfie of you and the rock. This may appear on their Facebook page. Also, bring in the rock to the Wayne County Extension office. This office is located in the basement of the Wayne County Courthouse in Greenville, Missouri. The finder will receive a goody bag.
When Is This Activity?
This seek & find event runs from March 15, 2021 through March 31, 2021. So get out in the fresh air and sunshine. Find your way around the county and have fun doing it while searching for bright painted rocks.
