Alton, Mo. – Last year, AltonMo.com hosted its first photo contest at the Walnut Festival. It was a success receiving grand reviews. Participants entered their photos for free. Afterwards, they, family, friends, and viewers could vote for their favorite pictures. The winners of each category received prizes donated by local merchants. Then, each person’s vote was put into a bucket. The voting winner received a nice chair, courtesy of Simpson’s True Value.
This Year
This year, AltonMo.com plans to have another photo contest! Start taking pictures now: blooming flowers, baby animals, sunrises or sunsets, or mist on haystacks. Beauty is all around us. Can you find it through a camera lens?
The categories have yet to be decided, but the judging takes place at the Alton Walnut Festival. Look for our booth to enter! There is no discrimination based on age. Anyone can enter. Whether you are a beginning photographer or one who takes many of family members, this local contest is for you! You do not need to mail in your pictures. Simply drop them off at our booth for judging, then pick them up after the judging is completed.
People judge only the picture entered.
We need a print of the picture—no digital entries will be accepted.
Cost
All proceeds will be donated to a local charity.
We look forward to seeing the talent in our community.
