Alton, Mo. – This is officially the Fourth of July weekend with festivities planned all around the area. From Alton to Willow Springs, communities are celebrating in full force this year. Here is a summary.
Alton
Alton held their fireworks celebration first. They shot off the dazzling displays last night, Friday, at dusk.
Thomasville
Thomasville is having their festivities on Saturday, July 2 [1]. Their ice cream parlor opens at 4pm, concessions at 5pm, rodeo at 7pm; all preceding the fireworks display at dusk.
Thayer
Not to be left out, Thayer is celebrating our nation’s birthday on Monday, July 4, 2022. They scheduled live entertainment, free watermelon slices, concessions, and booths. The fireworks show begins at dusk at the Thayer High School football field.
Willow Springs
Reminiscent of older days when time was slower, Willow Springs is having an Independence Day parade. This begins at 10am. After that is patriotic events with their fireworks show at dusk; all on the 4th.
This means that almost whatever your schedule dictates or wherever you happen to be, you could catch some national patriotic spirit with those around you as you watch the fireworks and thank God for this country you live in.
