Alton, Mo. – The 37th Annual Black Gold Walnut Festival was held on October 1, 2022. There were three contests happening throughout the day: pumpkin carving, woodworking, and baking.
Pumpkin Carving
Kids between five and twelve got their creative juices flowing and carved their best pumpkin at the Walnut Festival. There were two age categories: 5-8-year-olds and 9-12 year-olds. The winners for the 5-8 year-olds are as follows:

Baking
There were multiple breads and pies entered in the baking contest. There were three categories in the baking contest: candy/fudge, cakes/pies, and quick bread/cookies.

Woodworking
Not many people enter the woodworking contest. Two categories are in the woodworking contest: furniture and craft/sculpture/carving.
