A roughly 7-minute, 30-second video on YouTube explains the conceptual development planning underway and can be accessed at youtu.be/CIm8DCL6T6U?si=HBkTjK5S1RrcX0qE.

History Of Land

The Eleven Point State Park, formerly Pigman Ranch and Buildings 4 Babies, was purchased by the state of Missouri in 2015 for conservation purposes. Missouri State Parks is a division of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources that operates 92 parks and historic sites. This park is located near Riverton, On Highway Y.

It encompasses 4,167 acres of land of which eleven miles are along the river.

Plans

The survey results can be read here. Most people want the land left, but they want amenities (like bathrooms) and hiking trails. After that, fishing and picnicking are preferred. Of course, in Oregon County, residents would also like to see it open for hunting. They want scenic landscaping and natural fauna.

Although most people want the land left in a close-to-nature state, others would like to see internet options and wedding arrangements.

The park was open for viewers only during the eclipse on April 8, 2024. Overnight campers were not allowed.
