Thomasville is planning a big night, celebrating our nation’s birthday with fireworks, ice cream, and a rodeo. Additionally, this year, they are honoring 30 years of the Thomasville Volunteer Fire Department.
Rodeo
The rodeo begins at 7:00 p.m. Prepare to watch young riders show their techniques as they race around barrels and sticks. Youngsters also try to ride sheep. A bit older ones try to stay on bulls. For more information on the rodeo, please call 417-293-9668. Admission is $5 per person; kids five and under are free.
Concessions
Coming into Thomasville, you can smell the aromas of a carnival: popcorn and barbecues. You see fresh, cold lemonade and delicious ice cream closer to the attendees.

Fireworks
The fireworks extravaganza begins at dark. The lights from the arena go off. One looks to the sky. And colorful bursts of light explode overhead.

Quilt Raffle
Each year, they raffle off a beautiful homemade quilt. This year will be no different. The quilt is currently on display at the Thomasville Restaurant. Tickets cost $3.00 each, or two tickets for $5.00. Tickets can be purchased at the restaurant, at the Thomasville Library, and at the event.
This is always a fun, family-friendly event. Bring the young children as well as the grandparents for this evening of fun and entertainment.
