Thomasville, Mo. – On Saturday, September 23, 2023, Thomasville hosted TJ Swift’s Autumn Days. Water and yard games went alongside food booths while live music played in the background. People from around the area came to enjoy a relaxing evening.
Games
The cornhole tournament began at 4:00. With a large turnout of teams, the boards and bags were lined up across the gym. Players laughed and remained focused on their one objective: the hole!
Meanwhile, outside, children flocked to the river for duck races. Despite getting caught along roots, the races were fun to watch.
Unfortunately, the kayak races were canceled due to low water in the river. Returning to the community center, children could participate for free in sack, three-legged, and egg races. You can see a picture of the three-legged race here. While teens could not join in, they laughed while watching the younger children. Pumpkin painting was set up at a long table for anyone wanting to try their artistic skills.
Food
The community center was selling hot dogs and cold water or hot cider. Meanwhile, a barbecue food truck quickly ran out of food, selling to the many patrons.
Besides selling food, they hosted a chili cookoff. Crockpots lined the wall inside the community center awaiting judging.
Music
Beautiful, family-friendly music was piped from the stage to around the community center. Quality hymns like ‘The Old Rugged cross’Â were sung to perfection. Later, the Dawson Hollow Band picked up the pace.
Families and couples could sit in the shade of a tree listening to pleasant music. A light, constant breeze kept the bugs away. Altogether, it was a successful night of fun in Thomasville.
