Today, October 31, 2023, is Halloween. Now is when kids dress up as their favorite characters and go trick or treating. Here are the places where kids can go trick or treating.
Alton
The city-wide trick or treating will be from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm, only where porch lights are on.
Trunk or Treat
The Alton Chamber of Commerce is hosting a trunk or treat on the square tonight as well. The trunk or treat will be from 5-9 pm. There will also be bounce houses, a street dance, and movies. The two movies that will be shown, starting at dark, are “Frankenweenie” and “Haunted Mansion.” [1]
Thayer
The city of Thayer trick-or-treating will be from 5:00-9:00 pm as well, but only where porch lights are on.
Thayer FBC
The Thayer First Baptist Church is having its fall fest tonight from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Games, candy, and other activities will be happening.
Freewill Baptist Church
The Thayer Freewill Baptist Church will also be giving out candy. Located at Fourth and Oak Street in Thayer, the church will give out candy between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. [2]
Couch
Not to be left out, Couch is having its annual trunk-or-treat at the school between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm. [3] Free train rides will be available for the attendees.
Other Cities
Although in another state, the city of Mammoth Spring’s trick-or-treating will also be from 5:00-9:00 only where porch lights are on. The last Halloween event going on is in Birch Tree. They are having a variety of events, including a pie contest, costume contest, mazes, games, and a parade. The event starts at 5:00 pm. You can read more here.
