Alton, Mo. – This past weekend, in addition to everything else that happened, a different type of entertainment came to town to end the festivities. Alton had a truck pull! The Alton Chapter FFA hosted the event.
What Happened?
The evening began at 6:00 p.m. As viewers continued to enter, the excitement was high. Viewers set up chairs or laid down blankets. Flatbeds had been arranged for bleacher-type seating. The location was unimportant, as the sound reverberated everywhere, with townspeople saying they heard the loud road of the engines. Earplugs were a necessity for those attending. Children and youth of all ages ran alongside the runway.
The truck pull was divided into various categories. The vehicles were painted in a deluxe fashion. No mufflers here as the loud engines roared, pulling the heavy weights the required distances. Vehicles from other states showed up to participate!
With hardly a break between runs, the crowd watched and cheered all night, even for the tractors doing their jobs on the runway.
Who Did This?
The Alton Chapter FFA hosted this event. Besides them, there were many sponsors.
The audience thought this was well-organized. We are all looking forward to the next truck pull. Hopefully, it will be soon.
