Pizza Hut is joining the ranks of others to help promote the love of reading. Throughout October, they will give each student who reads a book a whole personal pan pizza for Free! Here are the details.
What Is This Deal?
Pizza Hut is giving away free personal pan pizzas throughout October (National Book Month) to encourage readers of all ages, especially children. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the pizza chain’s Book It! program. This program has been motivating students from pre-kindergarten to 6th grade to read with the promise of a pizza prize since 1984.
Who Can Do This?
While everyone should read, this is geared to encourage elementary students, ages kindergarten through sixth grade.
Does This Cost?
The personal pan pizza is free. However, to get your free personal pan pizza, you’ll need to place an $8 minimum online order via Pizza Hut’s website or the Pizza Hut app and enter the code BOOKIT40 at check out. You’ll be redirected back to select your toppings, after which the pizza will be added to your cart at no charge.
If you want to support the idea but have no children that age, you can also order the Book It! bundle, which comes with two large one-topping pizzas and an order of breadsticks. A portion of the proceeds will be returned to the Book It! program. While it is not necessary to enroll in Book It! or prove you read anything to be eligible for free pizza from Pizza Hut, you could follow the spirit of the challenge by ordering your personal pan pizza as a reward for completing a book.
