Shafer Family Benefit Postponed Till Later Date Due To Weather

In mid-January, six-year-old Nathaniel Shafer passed away in an auto accident. The community got together and planned a benefit fundraiser for the Shafer Family. Originally planned for February 22, 2025, the benefit will be moved to a later date due to impending bad weather.

Rescheduled Date

Because of the snow and very cold temperatures, the benefit has been moved off. [1] A rescheduled date is not set up at this point, but the Oregon County Ambulance will announce it on their Facebook page.

Benefit

The benefit will include a pulled pork dinner with all the sides. The main event will be an auction. Items are being donated by individuals and businesses. If you would like to donate an item to be auctioned off, you can bring it to Thayer or Alton Ambulance Base or drop it off at the Alton Napa Auto Parts. If you have questions, please contact Makayla Morgan at 417-293-1440; or April Murdock at 573-707-0760; or Chad Casey at 417-270-2267.

Monetary Donation

If you don’t think you’ll be able to make it to the benefit when it is rescheduled, you can make a monetary donation at the Southern Bank in Alton or Thayer, or at the Community First Bank in Thayer, under the name “Benefit for Nathaniel Shafer.”
