Alton, Mo. – During this year’s Walnut Festival, AltonMo.com held a photo contest. We were excited at the results despite not knowing what to expect regarding entries or judging. Now, all of the funds accrued have been donated.
Directions
Anyone could enter a photograph for judging. There was no entry fee. We had three categories: people, places/nature, and animals. We laughed at the animals, smiled at the people, and ahhh’ed over nature.
To allow festival attendees to participate without taking pictures, they could vote on their favorite pictures. Each vote cost $1, and they could vote as often as they wished. Some entries got friends and family members voting on their photographs.
End
We collected the money. By the end of the festival, we had collected $108!
Donation
All of the money has been donated to our Alton Oregon County Food Pantry. Daisy was very happy about the donation, which will be added to other donations. She was not sure if it would be for roof repairs or holiday food, but it was much appreciated.
Thanks again to all who participated!
