Alton, Mo. – Christos House in Alton, Missouri is closing. On June 1, 2020, the news came out that the resale store will be closing soon. Christos House is located on the square in Alton.
 Christos Store Closing
The facility is accepting donations only until Monday, June 15th. The store will hold a closing sale of 50% off clothing and housewares. The closing sale is from June 15th through June 26th. They will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Everything must go.
Store Benefits
Christos House has benefitted the local school as well as the community. Students and families received vouchers for clothing and necessities. Christos paid bills. It participated in the annual back to school fairs. Christos House provides a safe place for victims of domestic or sexual violence. It makes positive changes in people’s lives.
What Does Christos House Represent
The decision to close the facility was not taken lightly. Christos House services work in conjunction with eight other counties. The outreach advocate will stay in Oregon County, but the office will relocate. The West Plains Christos House store will remain open. Two employees have been offered employment in West Plains.
