Although known as a small town, Myrtle, Missouri is not being left out of the action. The Myrtle Senior Center is planning a garage sale. They are inviting the public. The center also encourages the public to donate ahead of time to this event.
Sign Of The Times
The Myrtle Senior Center realizes the constraints senior citizens are under. With high inflation, high food and fuel costs, and low income, many of the elderly are struggling. How to meet the growing demand of these needs can be all-consuming. No one should have to choose between food and medicine, or utilities. It also takes funding to run a center. Money for food, heat and employees has to come from somewhere.
How To Assist
Although just a small town of 351 residents, Myrtle is gathering the community around to support its seniors. Myrtle is even inviting neighboring communities to participate. The Myrtle Senior Center is holding a fall garage sale. The center is accepting donations for the sale from October 11 through October 13. They will then have a large garage sale on Friday and Saturday, October 14-15.
All proceeds go to keeping the center open and operating, which helps the seniors. All donations or monetary donations will be accepted. Further questions can be directed to Greg at 417-938-4513. He is available for after-hours drop-offs, too.
