Alton, Mo. – Fresh, locally grown produce, handmade items, freshly made loaves of bread, and bakery items. All this and more at our local Alton Oregon County Farmer’s Market. We have locally grown produce like tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and zucchini. Then, other vendors array home made baskets or wood-crafted creations. Also available to buyers are home-baked treats.
This is family-friendly. The Oregon County Farmer’s Market will also have a booth at the upcoming Walnut Festival.
Is The Market Open Now?
The Alton Farmer’s Market is open Saturdays, now through October. Saturday mornings, vendors set up their booths and have their goods ready for sale by 9 am. But this is not the day to delay. Many mornings the fresh produce sells out quickly. Although the market is officially open until 1 pm, even home-baked treats often sell before 11 am.
Where Are The Booths?
Local merchants have their booths set up at Tucker Creek Park, also known as Alton Park. The canopies are arranged down the hill from the playground and swimming pool. The park offers adequate parking as well as a gravel walking trail next to a wet-weather creek.
What Is Selling?
What is selling does change from week to week. Besides seasonal produce, some may sell live small animals or honey. Some weeks you may find plants. Most Saturdays you can find farm-fresh eggs, although they do sell out quickly. One vendor sells her books. Another sells grass-fed beef.
We encourage local residents, or even those passing through, to stop by and see what is trading today.
